The New York to Florida route

New York to Florida is a well-traveled car shipping corridor, and much of the trip follows I-95, so the run south is usually straightforward once your car is loaded. What shapes your price and timing is mostly the pickup: where the car is, how easy it is for a large truck to reach, and how busy the season is.

The same applies if you are starting in New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, or elsewhere in the Northeast. Send both ZIP codes and we will check carriers for your exact route.

Picking up in New York and the Northeast

City pickups

A full car carrier is long and cannot always get onto narrow streets in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, or older town centers. If your block is tight, the driver may ask to meet at a nearby wide street or a large parking lot. If the car is in a building garage, check clearance, hours, and who can release it, and tell us before pickup.

Suburbs, Long Island, and New England

Suburban pickups are usually simpler, but cul-de-sacs, low trees, and HOA rules still matter. A shopping center lot close to home is a common meeting point. In winter, a cleared driveway or a plowed lot keeps the pickup on schedule.

Delivery in Florida

Many Florida addresses sit inside gated communities, condo complexes, or 55+ neighborhoods. Let the gate or management know a car carrier is coming, and check whether trucks are allowed inside. If not, the driver can meet you at the entrance or a nearby lot. If you will still be on your way south, name someone to receive the car and sign the delivery inspection.

When to ship: the fall rush and the spring return

Southbound demand on this corridor rises in the fall and early winter. Northbound demand rises in spring. If you are shipping during those waves, request your quote early and give us a flexible pickup window. Outside the peaks, carriers are usually easier to find on shorter notice.

Coming back north in spring? We arrange the Florida to New York trip the same way. You can ask about both legs at once; we quote each one separately.

Open or enclosed transport

Open transport is the usual choice for daily drivers and usually costs less. Enclosed transport protects against weather and road grime and suits classics, exotics, and cars with show finishes. Compare open and enclosed car shipping.

Is the Amtrak Auto Train an option?

Amtrak's Auto Train carries you and your car between Lorton, Virginia, near Washington, D.C., and Sanford, Florida, near Orlando. It can work well if you want to travel with your car, but you still drive to Lorton and from Sanford. Car shipping picks up near your home and delivers near your Florida address, while you fly or travel separately. Compare both against your plans and budget.

What it costs and when you pay

Free quote. Your price is an estimate until a carrier accepts your order, and it never goes up without your OK. How pricing works

No payment is collected until the carrier or driver confirms in writing. The agreed spot reservation amount is due to BladeHaul after that confirmation, before pickup. The remaining carrier balance is paid directly to the carrier. Together, these make up your total price, and your written transport agreement sets out the amounts and terms. Common questions

How much does it cost to ship a car from New York to Florida?

It depends on the exact pickup and delivery locations, your vehicle, open or enclosed transport, and the season. Prices on this corridor usually rise during the fall run south. Request a free quote with your ZIP codes and dates. Your quote is an estimate based on current market prices for similar shipments on your route. It can change until a carrier accepts your order, but never without your OK, and you can cancel at no charge if you don't agree. Once a carrier is confirmed, your price is locked in with that carrier. If that carrier cancels, any new price needs your OK too. No hidden fees.

How long does it take to ship a car from New York to Florida?

Timing depends on when a carrier can pick up and how many other stops are on its trip. We confirm a realistic pickup and delivery window when we book your carrier and keep you updated along the way.

What is the cheapest way to ship a car to Florida?

Choose open transport, give a flexible pickup window, request your quote early in peak season, and pick a pickup spot a large truck can reach easily.

Is it cheaper to drive or ship your car?

Driving from New York to Florida means fuel, tolls, likely a hotel night or two, meals, and the miles on your car. Add those up and compare them with a shipping quote and a one-way flight.
