Car shipping across Texas metros
Texas is big, and where your car starts or ends makes a real difference. Pickups and deliveries near the major metros and interstates are usually easier to schedule than ones far out in rural areas, where fewer carriers pass through.
Dallas–Fort Worth
BladeHaul's mailing address is in Dallas. DFW sits where I-35, I-20, I-30, and I-45 meet, so it is well connected for carriers. See Dallas car shipping for local pickup tips.
Houston
Houston connects to I-10 and I-45. Traffic and sprawling suburbs mean pickup timing matters; a flexible window helps. Along the Gulf Coast, hurricane season can affect schedules in late summer and fall.
Austin and San Antonio
Both cities sit on I-35, and San Antonio also connects to I-10. New developments and HOA communities around both cities often limit large trucks, so a nearby lot is a common meeting point.
Shipping a car to or from Texas
Long-distance moves such as Texas to California, Texas to Florida, or from the Midwest and the coasts into Texas are the kind of trips where shipping usually makes the most sense compared with driving. Whatever your route, send both ZIP codes and your dates and we will check carriers for it.
Buying a car from a dealer or private seller in another state? Share the seller's pickup requirements and release paperwork, so the driver arrives prepared.
When to ship to or from Texas
Demand moves with the seasons. Summer is a busy moving season across the country, and in winter, northern visitors head to South Texas and other warm-weather states. Hot summer weather and Gulf storms can also affect schedules. Request your quote early when your dates are fixed, and keep your pickup window flexible when you can.
Open or enclosed transport
Open transport suits most cars and trucks and usually costs less. Enclosed transport adds protection from sun, hail, and road debris for classics, exotics, and show cars. Compare open and enclosed car shipping.
What it costs and when you pay
Free quote. Your price is an estimate until a carrier accepts your order, and it never goes up without your OK. How pricing works
No payment is collected until the carrier or driver confirms in writing. The agreed spot reservation amount is due to BladeHaul after that confirmation, before pickup. The remaining carrier balance is paid directly to the carrier. Together, these make up your total price, and your written transport agreement sets out the amounts and terms. Read how booking and payment work.

Common questions
How much does it cost to ship a car to or from Texas?
It depends on the distance, the exact pickup and delivery locations, your vehicle, open or enclosed transport, and the season. Our car shipping cost guide covers each factor and what industry surveys report. Your quote is an estimate based on current market prices for similar shipments on your route. It can change until a carrier accepts your order, but never without your OK, and you can cancel at no charge if you don't agree. Once a carrier is confirmed, your price is locked in with that carrier. If that carrier cancels, any new price needs your OK too. No hidden fees.
What is the best way to ship a car from California to Texas?
For most everyday cars, open door-to-door transport is the usual choice. Give us both ZIP codes and a flexible pickup window, and we will confirm a carrier and the total price in writing before you pay anything.
What is the cheapest way to ship a car?
Open transport, flexible dates, booking ahead of busy seasons, and a pickup spot near a main road all help.
Is it cheaper to drive or ship your car?
For a short in-state trip, driving is usually cheaper. For a long interstate move, compare a quote with fuel, hotels, meals, time off, and the miles added to your car.
